Happy New Year

Lots of birds in my future.....hoping to paint lots of birds....

Still going to paint, and draw faces, though....
Another wizard I did for a friend who asked...
And below, a new favorite. Made this one for another friend. I kept the original, and sent her a nice 18 by 24 print. Going to be selling art prints soon.
That's all for now.....Happy New Year!!!!!!

Merry Christmas

Still at it with drawing of faces. Lol. But a lot of my drawings I use filters on afterwards in a digital editing program these days, to prepare them for print. Or in the case of the blue wizard, he is completely digital and a vector logo made for a client.

In any event, wanted to post before Christmas and wish all a safe holiday season.

Six Long Months Of Work

In the six months I haven't posted, I have been turning my yard into an organic vegetable garden. It took a lot of work, and I was just as thorough with the hardscaping as the actual gardening. I tried to approach it creatively, wanting a beautiful retreat. Lots of painting, and staining. Lots of arranging, and sometimes rearranging. Hope these before and after pics inspire some readers! :)

Happy Halloween; October Wrap Up Post

While I didn't get as many faces rendered as I would've liked this month, I sure had a lot of fun with the cake I did for my friend's party.
There were some disasters with it, too...After joking that my son would eat the grim reaper's head off the cake as a late night snack; due to a problem with a misplaced dowel rod, the head rolled off anyway. I replaced it, and think it came out even better than it was originally (updated version pictured below.) I love how the finished cake looked all set up at my friend's house, pictured in the bottom photo below.

I have other cakes I'll be doing in November, and will post pics. I wish all a safe and Happy Halloween!

Halloween Fun

I have had a terrible time trying to get back here to post; however, here I finally am. This is just a very busy time of year, and I'm in the throes of a Halloween cake. I have posted sketches, and a vampire rendering all in gray scale. Also the fondant work for the cake shown in stages, below. When the cake is finished, I will post pictures. Really enjoying Halloween this year. A pic of the entrance to my home, and an autum sky I photographed this morning are below. Until next time, take care!

That Autumn Glow

I love this time of year. I don't even let the fact that the stores have Halloween displays up in August ruin it for me when October actually gets here. Anyway, it's usually a busy time of year for me, too. It took me longer than I wanted to get back here to post. I have three more faces done, bringing the count to 932 faces. These were all done in pastel on a hemp colored paper...adds a kind of autumn glow, the toned paper. Thanks for reading!
