This latest batch of faces consists of colored pencil studies, and figure related studies. I gave my soft pastels a temporary holiday after finding some higher quality colored pencils in my stash to play with. Although pleased with the colored pencils, I am sure by my next post I will pick up with the soft pastels again.

This past week was so filled with chaos, I almost gave up on my goal of drawing three faces a day. But then, I got myself caught up with the faces and it's given me the initiative to press on forward...even though I didn't have time to post them until now!
Colored pencil, up next...
Face #129, Face #130, and Face #131
Then, some pencil drawings...
Face #133, Face #134, Face #135, Face #136, and Face #137
Lastly, an ink drawing...
Face #141Hopefully I can stay on top of my goal during the holidays, and during the busy days I have been having. It is sooo cold here tonight and our wind chill is going to be in the teens in the morning. Doesn't feel like Florida, at all! Hope wherever you are, reader, you are cozy!

Face #120 and Face #121
Face #122 and Face #123
Face # 124The last face I did above, I gave her the hat and scarf because we are having our first cold spell of the year here in Florida! Hope all of you are warm enough, wherever you are!

The first two faces in this post are soft pastel. I didn't use the Unison pastels this time, because I bought some additional NuPastels and wanted to see if I could come up with some new skin tones using them. Although I like these, I think the Unison is better for laying the basic foundation for the faces. I had to work a little harder at getting to where I wanted to go with that using the NuPastels.
This next one is a work in progress, and has been done with ink and colored pencil.
And two more in ink...
The next four are done in graphite. I am trying to rise above the humble #2 pencil.
I think at one time or another, most people have one of these toxic "friends" or relatives (below). You know the type: For instance, you announce you are on a diet, and they sabotage your efforts by giving you cookies and cakes! Best to maintain your resolve, and try to see through the disguise of the false well meant intentions.
This next face is charcoal and ink.
And I almost didn't even post this last one because it is done with ball point pen on the back of a receipt, using my purse as a make-shift desk in the car while waiting for my son to be through at the doctor's office!
Have a great weekend, and thanks for visiting!

This was Bob (face #93).He was walking through the office with his brown-bagged lunch, when he was suddenly aware that he was in a land of giants...One of the devices used to show depth in a painting/illustration, is vertical placement. So through the magic of Photoshop, I moved Bob up to where he belonged so he would no longer be in a land of giants. The illusion of distance/depth has been achieved. I played some more, and changed the scale of Bob, but didn't post the pics here.In the end, Bob was erased. In the end, Bob was replaced...by a departure gate at an airport!
A couple of ink drawings are up next...
And last, but not least, a pencil drawing in progress...It is 18" by 24" , so I couldn't scan it. Sorry for the low quality of the pic...But you can still double click to zoom in for a better look!
I can't believe I am a tenth of the way to my goal!!!!
